Private Pilot Licence
Gain your Private Pilot Licence (PPL) allowing you to pilot an aircraft as PIC, anywhere in Australia, during daylight hours, carrying passengers. This licence is accepted in many other countries, as it complies with the international standard.
- Fly Private Operations
- Minimum 17 Years old
- Ability to add ratings
Stepping into the PPL
A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) allows you to pilot an aircraft on your own, anywhere in Australia, in daylight hours, without needing prior authorization from an instructor.
You can also legally share the aircraft hiring cost with your passengers, however you cannot fly for hire or reward unless you have a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
Typically, you will be eligible to commence your PPL training once you have completed an RPL, or converted an RPC to an RPL.
For your PPL flight test, you will need to obtain a class 2 medical certificate with a designated aviation medical examiner prior to flying solo and hold an aviation security identification card (ASIC).
Once you hold a PPL, you meet the pre-requisites to start training for the Multi-Engine Class Rating, the Night VFR Rating and the Private Instrument Rating, to name a few. These additional ratings can increase your privileges and skill level as a private pilot.
Course Duration
The Private Pilot Licence course can be completed on a full time basis in approximately 8 weeks. This time frame is dependent on variables, such as weather conditions and student aptitude and commitment.
Aircraft used for training:
Inspire Aviation generally conducts PPL training in our fleet of Cessna 172 or Piper Cherokee aircraft. We do from time to time complete PPL training in the owner’s own private aircraft with prior arrangement.
